Xavier is a pianist, arranger, composer and educator from Singapore. Obtaining an Associate of the London College of Music (ALCM) in classical piano in 2009, he is a graduate of the BA (Hons) Music in Jazz Performance at LASALLE College of The Arts. Xavier’s primary interests have now shifted towards learning the language of jazz, blues, funk and soul. He has performed at International Jazz Day @ Kult Kafe, Jazz @ Red Dot 2017, the Singapore International Jazz Battle 2018 and various other public and private functions. His solo piano arrangements of contemporary pop tunes on YouTube have garnered over 300,000 combined views.
As an educator, Xavier is interested in teaching the art of improvisation and playing by ear. He believes in bridging the gap between the academic study of music theory and practical performance, arrangement and composition. Xavier is also actively involved in We Love Jazz SG, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting jazz and improvised music.
