Martin, violin

martinMartin is a graduate of Idyllwild Arts Academy and currently a second year student at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory at NUS.

While in secondary school he auditioned and was accepted with a scholarship into Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, where he stayed and studied for three years. Many a times Martin was chosen to perform around California, performing in elementary, middle and high schools and various private events. He was also a semi-finalist in the 2010 Spotlight Awards Performing Arts Competition. Having graduated and obtained his diploma from Idyllwild Arts Academy, Martin returned to Singapore for further musical studies. His teachers include Kang Choon Sim,Trevor Sze, Todor Pelev, Alexander Souptel and Michael Loh. Martin also performed with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra, and continues to play for concerts whenever he can. He has also taken part in master classes by Sergiu Schwartz, Bing Wang, Ann Miller, Christoph Wyneken, Keng-Yuen Tseng and Yi-wen Jiang.

When Martin is not performing for orchestra concerts or private functions, he performs for various organizations whenever he has time to promote world peace. He also experiments with playing the Blues on the fiddle when not playing classical. When it comes to sharing and creating joy, Martin would never fail to use his violin to do that.
