Linh, Cello Singapore

Linh attained her Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance with Honors from the Yong Siew Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. Her teacher Ng Pei-Sian is the cello principal of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. During her time studying in the Conservatory, Linh has represented the Keppel scholars to give Appreciation Concerts in Singapore and Vietnam. In 2011, she was offered a full scholarship for a 6-weeks music camp and performance tour with the Asian Youth Orchestra, touring Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Japan. Most recently, Linh was invited to perform on tour with the Orchestra of Music Makers in the United Kingdom. She also performs regularly with the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orchestra of Music Makers. She has worked with a number of renowned conductors such as Alan Gilbert, Eiji Oue, Claus Peter Flor, Mark Wigglesworth, James Judd, Richard Pontzious, Takuo Yuasa, Chan Tze Law, Lim Yau, Jason Lai, and Darrel Ang.

Linh started with the piano at the age of 4 and switched to the cello at the age of 8. Before attending the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, she studied at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi. She has performed in masterclasses with Markus Stocker, Mats Rodin, Kerstin Feltz, Rhonda Rider, David Takeno, and Inbal Megiddo. In 2007 she performed with the Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra in Thailand. Linh established her orchestral career in Vietnam when she was invited to perform on tour with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra. She has received the Korean Exchange Bank scholarship for excellent music students during her study in Vietnam.

Linh currently performs on the Lapo Vettori 2005 cello generously loaned from the Rin Collection.
