Hao Wei, violin

Hao wei picked up the violin at the age of 4. He studied under the Suzuki Method until the age of 13, when he came under the tutelage of Chan Yoong-Han, violinist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He has attained distinctions for both the Associate and Licentiate Diploma exams, both awarded by Trinity College London.

Hao Wei was a member of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra from 2004-2009, serving as its Principal for the Second Violin section. He has also attended masterclasses by visiting artists such as Aline Champion and Alena Baeva.

In his free time, Hao Wei teaches the violin. He specialises in teaching children age 5-10. Hao Wei is an avid chamber musician and has performed quartet and quintet works at the Esplanade Concourse and Library on several occasions.

Hao wei is currently a student at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, where he studies the violin with Professor Zuo Jun.
