Eunice, cello

Eunice started learning the cello when she was 12 and she soon attained distinctions for both her grade 5 and grade 8 ABRSM cello examinations. In 2012, she entered the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts to pursue her diploma in cello performance, under the tutelage of SSO (Singapore Symphony Orchestra) cellist, Zhao Yu Er. She graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a Diploma in Music in May 2015 and she is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music with Honours with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, in collaboration with Royal College of Music, London.

Eunice regularly performs solo and chamber works in the Lee Foundation Theatre, NAFA. She was a cellist with the Singapore Youth Chinese Orchestra from 2007 to 2011. She was also the president and student conductor of the Dunman Secondary School String Orchestra. As an active member of various chamber groups and orchestras of different genres, Eunice has performed with the NAFA Orchestra, the Singapore Lyric Opera, The Philharmonic Orchestra, re: mix, and the Orchestra of the Music Makers. She is also a member of a local Chinese music quintet, Stringwerkz, as well as the Singapore Pocket Opera Theatre.

A versatile and active musician, Eunice believes in participating extensively in chamber music and performing in different musical genres to cultivate musical cultures locally and internationally. She hopes to be able to share her musical experience and grow with the local music scene.

She also plays the piano and was awarded distinction for her grade 8 ABRSM piano certification.
